About Our School

Founded in 1878 in Glasgow, Kelvinside Academy boasts a rich heritage and a strong commitment to innovative education. We blend traditional values with modern approaches to create a vibrant and nurturing atmosphere for learning and growing.

Community sits at our core

Kelvinside Academy is a school and nursery community and it’s the members of this community that make it such a welcoming and inspiring place to be. Each staff member plays a role in shaping the School and we place huge emphasis on forming strong and supportive one to one relationships with pupils. We have a dedicated team of around 150 highly qualified teaching and operations staff.

  • The Senior Leadership Team has the responsibility for the day-to-day running of the School with the Rector and Chief Operating Officer reporting directly to the Board of Governors.  The governors are collectively responsible for the long-term vision and development of the School.
  • Our Board of Governors possess a wealth of experience across a variety of disciplines and they use their knowledge to maintain the best interests of the School, its property and its funds. At any given time, it is usual for the Board to have representation from the Academical community as well as our parent body.
