Summer Swimming Success
Two of our S3 pupils have had a hugely successful Summer in the pool.
Andrew P and Lula M achieved amazing results at the Scottish National Summer meet in Aberdeen. Both brought home a number of National podium places and secured some of their best PB’s to date.
They also both incredibly achieved a British qualifying time – Andrew for his 1500m freestyle (19th in Britain), Lula for her 200m Breaststroke (20th in Britain). Only the top 25 in Britain are recognised as holding a “British time” which is represents a very small portion of competitive swimmers.
Both pupils hit the national podium across 7 events:
Andrew
- 1500m freestyle Gold (PB)
- 400m freestyle Silver (PB)
- 800m Freestyle Bronze (PB)
Lula
- 100 Breast Silver (PB)
- 200 Breast Silver (PB)
- 200 Fly silver (PB)
- 400IM Bronze (PB)
Both Andrew and Lula have again been selected for the national Junior Academy – an initiative run by SASA Districts and Scottish Swimming Performance Team.
Huge congratulations to both Andrew and Lula –both very deserving of this selection as these achievements only come from huge dedication and hard work.
